Immediate Need for Volunteers

 

Thursday, September 8, 6:30 – 8:30 – Open House.  Volunteers are needed this evening to promote the Parent Association, answer parents questions, collect email addresses and sell fundraising items.  Volunteers are needed for 45 minutes prior to the event and 30 minutes after the event.  We will not be staffing volunteers during the event, so that parents can participate in Open House.  We will talk more about volunteers for this event at our first PA meeting. 
 

Fall Auditions – Thursday, September 1
Book Fair – October 10 – 14

 

Your involvement is always appreciated!

 

Please take some time to review the purpose statement and the activity plan draft.  Bring your questions and your ideas for how we can make both better!  Nothing is set in stone so if you have a great idea for something, now’s the time to get the discussion going!

Collect Box Tops for Education!
 
The Stivers Parent Association is collecting box tops!  Every box top is worth 10 cents and every penny earned goes back to help support students, teachers, and academic programming.
 
Please send your box tops to the Stivers main office!

 

The Parent Association at Stivers School for the Arts is open to all parents/guardians of students attending Stivers.  Our purpose is to provide opportunities for parents to:

 

Learn - Get up-to-date information on issues and decisions effecting your child's education.  Ms. Dooley provides a principal's report at every monthly meeting.  Guest speakers share information on topics pertinent to your child's educational experience.  Relevant issues facing the Board of Education are discussed.  Volunteer needs and opportunities are presented.

 

Share - We must work together to help Stivers give its best performance.  The Parent Association is your vehicle for sharing your ideas on ways to improve the educational experience at the school.  If you have concerns, we need to hear them as well.  We can't address a problem if we don't know it exists.  You also have the ability to bring your ideas about things we can do to support the staff and activities we can plan for students.

 

Serve - You can make a difference by serving our school community.  Many volunteer opportunities are available at Stivers; some must be done on the school grounds during school hours, some are available after school and in the evenings and others can be done from the convenience of your own home. Whether you know it or not, you have a talent and we can put it to good use.  Come find out how you can contribute!

  

In addition to attending a PA meeting, you may also stay up-to-date in one of two ways:
