Creative Writing

Congratulations to the Creative Writing Department for having to students place in the Annual Max May Memorial Holocaust Art Contest for poetry. These students were Chrystyan Marlow (1st place) and Shirray Burnside (2nd place). Their work will be displayed for viewing April 19, 2009 at 7:30pm at Temple Beth. The exhibit will be open at 6:30pm. Once again congratulations to these two individuals.

Congratulations! Our Stivers creative writers have been recognized with regional Gold Keys in The Scholastic Art and Writing Awards of 2009. This is a remarkable achievement for Stivers, considering that the most accomplised works submitted  to the regional programs of The Awards earn Gold Keys. IN 2009, more than 140, 000 works were submitted to The Scholastic Art and Writing Awards. Only 1,300 writing manuscripts from the Region-at-Karge earn Gold Key recognition each year.
