Stivers Jazz Orchestra 2008

The Stivers School for the Arts Jazz Orchestra swept the awards Saturday, February 9, 2008?at the 40th annual Berklee College of Music High School Jazz Festival in Boston.

Alfie McCloud began his career as a Stivers visual arts student with a special talent for ceramics.? His work attracted the attention of Winthrop University, where he finetuned his skills and gained experience with gallery exhibitions.?

After his exhibition at the Gallery at Gettys, McCloud begain volunteering around the gallery.? His efforts landed him a fulltime position as co-director at the Gallery at Gettys after his graduation from Winthrop.? In his position he is responsible for reviewing portfolios and scheduling ten shows per year.
